We all know there are people who prefer Facebook over MySpace and vice-versa…
In reality they are not very different from each other. Many people say that you can do more on MySpace than you can on Facebook but really they both have the same features. The people who say otherwise are usually the people who use MySpace primarily. Well, I hate to burst your MySpace bubble, but there is not much you can do on MySpace that you can’t do on Facebook.
I don’t know how many times I’ve heard the complaint: “you can’t message people on Facebook!” Well, Facebook does, indeed, have messenging; it is located on the top toolbar where it says INBOX! In my opinion, a lot of this MySpace versus Facebook stuff is just like the PC versus Mac argument. People who know MySpace inside and out are not gonna know Facebook very well because it is two totally different systems.
That is what most don’t get or fail to understand.
For example, you can message, comment, post your status, post pictures, and many other things on MySpace. Name me one of those that cannot be done on Facebook. Can’t find any can you. However, the only thing you can do on MySpace over Facebook is customize your profile with themes. In all honesty, even though Facebook doesn’t have that one feature it still looks more professional compared to MySpace. All of the glittery stuff and things that people paste onto their MySpace file makes it look childish, messy, unorganized.
I will admit that it does allow you to express yourself… But as far as market sharing goes, Facebook is stealing a lot of traffic and users from MySpace. That’s something that you can’t really ignore. Also, if you want further proof that MySpace is slowly becoming a Facebook clone, the old Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Facebook is now the CEO of MySpace! So as far as difference goes, there is nothing to argue about.
So what do you think? Which is better? Facebook or MySpace?
Facebook or MySpace?
